Preparing the school supplies for the Eastern Star Academy

On Saturday, October 17, troopers from the Philippine Outpost and volunteers from Big Brother Big Sister were scheduled to distribute school supplies to the students of the Eastern Star Academy. But we needed to do a lot of work before we could go there! Thanks to all of you, we were able to raise the funds needed to buy school supplies. You gave us more than we needed, and we were able to buy more than just the basic school supplies the ESA students needed.
The school supplies were delivered last Wednesday, October 13. Our stairwell was full!
We spent Friday night repacking the school supplies into individual bags, for easier distribution to the students.
On Saturday, we got up bright and early to go to San Mateo. On the way to Rizal from Quezon City, we passed through Tumana, Marikina, and saw how badly homes there had been affected:
